Scenes from our neighborhood park a few weeks ago reminded me that it’s worth appreciating the bare winter landscape. While we’re due for snow tonight and into tomorrow, the bare trees and berry-peppered bushes were a beautiful sight.
I am one who appreciates winter for a short time (about a month), but I will try to enjoy this quieter time of year for a longer period in 2014.
There’s something magical about this quiet and contemplative season — it’s a good time for setting goals, reading books, watching media, and scrapbooking (my hope for January is to do our 2013 yearbook and update the kids artwork scrapbooks).
Hope you can enjoy the peacefulness (and, possibly, “blahness”) of January. Happy new year!
