Nora keeps talking about our trip.
She loves to list all of the characters we saw: Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Donald, Goofy, Daisy, Boo and George (from Monster’s Inc.), Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, “Tangled,” etc.
While she was truly terrified of most of the characters up close and personal, she absolutely adored them from afar.
I find that people often dismiss the experiences of the under three crowd because they “won’t remember it later on.” But to hear Nora talk about her vacation proves that it’s not important to do something that she’ll remember forever, but it’s important to do something she’ll remember now. That will build on the next exciting thing we do (and so on) until she remembers some things forever.
Plus, I am really glad we’re taking the challenge to travel with kids. Nora and Carson will be learning how to navigate airports from an early age, something that I credit my parents with doing. It made me a very confident adult traveler–even confident enough to go to college across the country.
