Hunkering Down

The Current pre-Sandy View

Hurricane Sandy is coming in our direction for the next few days. Amazingly, Steve is not working and we’ll be at home together as a family during this crazy storm.

I laughed tonight when I thought that Mother Nature was trying to trump last year’s snowstorm before Halloween. She decided to bring a hurricane instead! I am a bit tired of these weather events overshadowing Halloween since Nora’s been old enough to participate. I am hopeful that we have the opportunity to enjoy the school parade and trick-or-treating this Wednesday.

We’re busy charging mobile devices and laptops as well as planning ways we can burn toddler energy while trapped inside the house for the next few days. Lately, Steve and I have been bemoaning our lack of time together, so this storm is a mixed blessing. I’d rather it be dry and sunny, but if it means we can be together and make some fun family memories, I am okay with it.
