Carson: One Month

My beautiful baby boy is already a month old! In that short month, he’s gained several pounds, strengthened his head so he can hold it up for quite a bit of time, and watched his big sister twirl about the house.

Carson is such an easy-going baby. He’s still very sleepy, and we’re still trying to move him into a routine where he sleeps consistently at night, but the kid hardly ever cries–except at diaper changes! His easy-going disposition has made life very easy on us–he took to nursing like a champ and will go anywhere in the Moby, something his sister detested. Carson also loves to stare at the high-contrast, black and white blanket his aunt crocheted for him. His complexion is getting lighter, but I still think he might have hazel/brown eyes, unlike his sister’s blue ones.

Our family feels complete with Carson’s arrival. Nora has always needed an audience, and Carson can be hers. Nora has also fallen in love with mothering her own baby dolls–she loves to feed them, diaper them, and rock them to sleep. Steve and I are happy to each have a kid to snuggle with–no more sharing just one cutie pie! I’ve enjoyed dressing in Carson in all sorts of cute boy clothes–I love the sports jerseys, animal motifs (my faves are monkeys and sharks), and striped sleepers. Plus it’s so fun to have a baby in the house again. I can fill up an entire afternoon just cuddling with my little guy.
